Stork And Hedgehog is written and compiled by Kevin Henderson
Artist and writer, Fine Art lecturer (at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee, Scotland) and Mountain Bike guide, Kevin Henderson has exhibited and made performance art works since the late 1980’s completing his last festival performances to-date in 2007 at ‘PAIR02’ (Lahti, Finland) and at ‘Blurr 6’ (Tel Aviv, Israel). In 2013 as part of the Golden Thread Galleries ‘Collective Histories of Northern Ireland Series’ he performed a new work Woman in White and Black—influenced by a George Seurat drawing and made from elements of Ghost Dispenser a work he first performed at Catalyst Arts in Belfast in 1995.
His paintings were seen in the group exhibition ‘Drawn Away Together’ at the Talbot Rice Art Gallery in Edinburgh in 2013 (an exhibition about contemporary forms of abstraction in Scottish art) and in 2014 in the solo exhibition ‘Domestique’ at The MAC in Belfast.
In 2016 he wrote the film script and narrative for a commercial mountain bike video (an H+I Adventures production) and the photo-essay Talisman was published in ‘The Shelter Stone – The Artist and the Mountain project’ in 2017. His poetry has been published in Anon, Gutter Magazine, Northwords Now and Poetry Scotland as well as in a number of other journals, magazines, and anthologies, and he has written extensively about the work of other artists including critical essays, journalism, essays for catalogues and other forms of introductory texts to their work.
